Bet you’ve spent more on worse dates.
Democracy is sexy. So is dating people who give a damn.
You made it this far—clearly you're not just a pretty face. Here's the deal: a $100 tax-deductible donation helps fund nonpartisan voter guides for young Texans. And because this project is my passion, I’d like the opportunity to say thank you in person—on a little date.
Running the Texas Voter Project takes up most of my time (and heart), so this also gives me a rare chance to do something for myself—while still staying true to the work I care about most.
Why this? Because let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to get off the apps. Swiping and scrolling can get you a face, a tagline, maybe a mutual love of tequila & tacos—but it doesn’t tell me if someone actually shares my values. And let’s be real: “moderate” and “not political” have become code for “I don’t want to talk about it.” Here, we believe “not political” is a political choice.
What started as a quirky fundraising idea has turned into a bit of a social experiment—an attempt to see what happens when shared civic values are the starting point for connection. No expectations, no pressure. I’m not promising romance, just an honest chance to meet someone who gives a f*ck.
While I do love some good banter, I really won’t know if there’s chemistry until we meet in person. But even if there isn’t a spark, we’ll have at least one thing in common: we care. And that’s a pretty solid foundation—for a conversation, a friendship, or maybe something more.
I say, if you’re civic-minded, curious, and cool with a little uncertainty… why not give it a shot? Plus, my mom can finally stop thinking that I’m still hung up on my ex.
So if you're down to make election season a little spicier—let's do this.
